Alumni

Many Excel campers have made the most of the foundation we supplied them with, and through hard work and dedication have earned the opportunity to continue their basketball careers in College and Professionally. Given that only about 2.9% of high school players are able to continue on and play in college, we are extremely proud of the list off Excel Campers who have made it!

“Excel is part of my foundation as a player and as a coach, and one of the most influential experiences in my life. The coaches of Excel have been like family to me since I was 10 years old! After working in the NBA, it’s never been more evident: Excel is the best basketball Camp in the country, run by the most passionate coaches in the world. With an emphasis on fundamentals and creating habits, Excel gives you the tools to be successful as a basketball player, and as a person.”

– Greg St. Jean
Assistant Coach for Dallas Mavericks

Frank Allocco Jr

St. Mary’s

Frank was “born” at Excel, and began attending the camp in 2nd grade through high school. He was a regular fixture at Excel and earned legendary statues in his outstanding prep career that saw him earn All State Status while leading Northgate to the 1995 State Championship and to the State Finals in 1996. Frankie scored 2008 points in his high school career and was Northern California player of the Year in 1996. He was a two time Most Valuable Player of the DFAL. He went on to become a three year starter at Saint Mary’s College where he averaged 11.2 points per game and shot 40% from the three point line. His career high of 31 points was attained against Gonzaga when he scored 28 points in the second half! He is still regarded as one of the greatest competitors in SMC history. Today, Frank has earned his reputation as one of the top Basketball Skills trainers on the West Coast. He is personally responsible for the development of countless high school and collegiate players through his outstanding ASA Skills program. This Skills-based program is regarded as one of the top teaching programs throughout the state of California.

What Excel Meant to Me: “Excel was, and still is my favorite summer activity. I loved the Station Drills, Ballhandling and Dribbling and of course the competition in games and one on one. I went to 5 Star one summer and couldn’t wait to get home to go back to Excel. The lessons I learned at camp made me a great player and have challenged me to be a better coach.”

Excel Awards Won:

  • Outstanding Player: 5 Times
  • Free Throw Champion: 14 Times
  • One on On Champion: 9 Times
  • All Star Selection: 24 Times
